"Can I safely get laser treatment when the weather is nice and the sun is shining?" A very valid question!
First, it's important to realize that laser treatments are performed worldwide during summer, think about areas where it's always sunny, like Dubai or Florida. In these countries, both therapists/doctors and clients deal with the sun's influence daily. The question arises: how do they handle this?
This varies per person. You first need to ask yourself: do I mind if the area in question doesn't tan this summer? Because laser hair removal on sun-tanned skin isn't advisable, and since safety is our top priority, we take no risks.
Don't need to get tanned in your bikini line, armpits, back, legs, chest, arms, or stomach (or other desired area)? Then you're a good candidate! We advise protecting the skin area on sunny days with sunscreen or covering it with clothing or a towel. People who rarely tan, aren't going on vacation, or work indoors a lot are always good candidates.
To be effectively and safely treated throughout the year, protecting your skin (not just in summer, but throughout the year) is essential. That's how they do it in Florida and Dubai too! The difference with our cold little country is that as soon as the sun shines here, we all rush to the terrace wanting to get that tan in the shortest possible time.
With laser hair removal, if you take too long a break between treatments, the total number of treatments increases. This has to do with hair growth phases. Research shows that the frequency of treatments determines the treatment result. If the interval between each treatment is kept constant, 6 weeks for the face and 8 weeks for the body, you'll ultimately need fewer treatments!
Absolutely! Each treatment provides improvement and significantly thins out the hair. Therefore, it definitely makes sense to have 1 or 2 hair removal treatments before your summer vacation. The hairs will be much thinner and the hair density smaller, making areas like armpits, legs, back, bikini line, etc., feel much less stubbly, hairs less irritating or ingrown, and shaving is quick and easy. Additionally, the treated hairs fall out 2 to 3 weeks after treatment, meaning much less hassle in the bathroom.
