Permanent Hair Removal?

Wouldn't it be wonderful to never have to shave your legs, armpits, or bikini line again? Then you've probably thought about permanent hair removal. As you might already know, there are two different ways to permanently remove unwanted hair from your body:

Permanent hair removal with laser or IPL - how do you choose?

If you haven't really researched it yet, you might be inclined to think there isn't much difference between these two methods. But beware: nothing could be further from the truth! There are indeed significant differences between laser hair removal and IPL hair removal.

How Laser and IPL Work

In essence, the working principle of both laser and IPL treatment is the same: the emitted light heats the pigment in the hair follicles, damaging them. The result? No more hair growth. The real difference lies in the type of light used.

A laser works with one powerful energy beam of a single wavelength and color. The advantage of this technique is that no light is lost, making it an extremely effective approach to unwanted hair growth.

IPL, on the other hand, emits light in multiple wavelengths (and thus colors). This is actually comparable to the light spread by a regular lamp. As a result, IPL light is much less powerful than laser light, and hair follicles are less thoroughly destroyed.

How Many Treatments Do You Need on Average?

With laser, you need fewer treatments (average of 6). With IPL, this average quickly rises to 10. The precision of laser treatment might require a bit more time. For both techniques, it's possible to treat multiple areas in one session.
