During microneedling, we use tiny needles that gently puncture the skin. The microscopic channels that are created stimulate your body’s natural healing process. This gives a natural boost to collagen and elastin production. This treatment, also known as collagen induction therapy, works entirely through your body's own mechanisms. Microneedling is an effective treatment for reducing wrinkles and fine lines, making the skin appear more youthful and radiant. One of the benefits of microneedling is the overall skin improvement it can offer, significantly enhancing skin texture and tone. Microneedling can also help reduce scar tissue, such as acne scars or scars from injuries, by stimulating the skin’s natural healing processes. For people with certain types of acne and rosacea, microneedling can be an effective solution to soothe the skin and reduce imperfections. Pigmentation disorders, such as melasma or hyperpigmentation, can be treated with microneedling to even out skin tone and reduce dark spots. Microneedling can also improve rough skin texture by stimulating collagen production, making the skin smoother and more even.
The Microneedling Treatment Explained
During the microneedling treatment, which lasts about 30 minutes, you’ll be lying comfortably in one of our treatment rooms. Our specialist uses a dermapen — a specialized device that makes tiny punctures in the skin using horizontal, diagonal, and vertical motions. These punctures are not painful, but they can be felt. After the treatment, your skin may be pink/red for a few hours. This will return to normal naturally as part of the healing process. In some cases, the skin may start to flake during this recovery phase.
